One Step Forward- One Step Back

Today we arrived at Primary Childrens to good news. Dr. Kouratis felt good about closing Teagan's chest. About 11:00 AM. It took about 2 Hours, Dr.K installed a mesh like patch over his heart to control scar tissue & allow better access for Teagan's next surgery. We felt it was a major step forward, but about 4:00 PM Teagan's stats, namely his oxygen level and breathing was struggling. Our Floor doctor, Dr. Poss said we will watch him closely for the next hour or so & then make a decision. Dr.Kouratis then come in got some quick info and said he was opening him back up. He called the surgery team back in and opened his chest back up.
We felt a little discouraged as we have set this as a goal, but we trust Dr. Kouratis's judgement and know he is being guided by our heavenly father in Teagan's behalf. We have to remember that he is not on our schedule and we need to be patient. We may stay overnight tonight we will see how he is doing about 8:00 tonight. We are on Teagan's Time.- Ryan
