7 Weeks Old

Today Teagan is 7 weeks Old. We are so grateful for every day he is with us, we celebrate every week, every day, every hour, every minute, every second, every calm and steady breath! He is doing well, we had a rough day on Saturday, Home Health came to draw blood and after FIVE pokes, lots of crying (me), and a very nervous nurse we gave up and I called Bonnie. She suggested that we go to Primary Children's and have the IV Team do it. So this morning Me and Kori went up and had his blood drawn. We had to feed Teag's up there cause whenever we feed him in the car he pukes, so needless to say we got there an hour early to feed him and we decided to visit Gracie and her mom, Michele. They were hanging in there, I let her know how hard it is at home. I was not going to lie, it's nice to know they think your baby is well enough to go home, but it is a full time job and without all my help I could not do it. I think she appreciated the honesty. Then it was time to get the blood. It's nice to have a scheduled draw because they have to do on time. They were checking to see if the dose of his shots were still right for him. We had a really nice IV team guy named Cory, he only did one poke (not so fun on your b-day) but it went really well, Teagan slept through it all. When we were done we went to the third floor to let Teags tummy settle before the ride home and we saw our friends Charlie, Grace and nurse Ashlee, and Kristi. It was good to get to go home and the rest of the day was peaceful, the ward brought dinner and Teag only puked twice. Bonnie did call and say the dose was perfect and we wouldn't have to do that again for a month and we could do it the same way, with the IV team. Well, Happy Birthday Teags, we love you and your worth all the care it takes to keep you here on Earth with us!

It does get easier at home... eventually. At least that's what I keep telling myself. Owen was home for 8 weeks and you'll get your routine. In an odd way it's nice to be back for the second stage surgery because I feel like I'm getting a small break from the feedings, medicine, and lack of sleep. I can't wait to get the Glenn out of the way tomorrow and be back home soon.... back to our full time job.

I saw your blog address on the ward newsletter for updates on Teagan. I read back from the beginning yesterday and was just BawLinG over all the struggles and miracles you're family is experiencing right now. You're in our prayers and I hope you don't mind me checking on your blog ever now and then to see the updates.

A baby asked Heavenly Father, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' Heavenly Father said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'

The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' Heavenly Father said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' Heavenly Father said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'

'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' Heavenly Father said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'

'Who will protect me?' Heavenly Father said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.'

'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' Heavenly Father said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'Heavenly Father, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'

Heavenly Father said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'
