Busy, Busy, Busy

Yes, that's what I've been. It is all starting to become very normal. Teagan is on a very tight schedule with around the clock care. Someone is up with him 24/7 me, Ryan G-ma Dee or G-ma Stacey. He is now eating every two hours, for an hour on the odd hour. On the even hour he gets his meds, at 8am he gets six meds plus a shot, more meds through out the day and at 8pm he gets four meds plus a shot and then a few more med through out the night. Most of them are for his tummy so hopefully he won't be on them forever. We have had two trips to Dr. Harris just to check up on Teag's weight, today he weighed 9lbs 14oz, on Monday he weighed 9lbs 8oz, so he is gaining and that's what we want. With all the pukes he was losing, so now that the puking has slowed down he is keeping the weight on. He has been sleeping better, I think it's because his tummy is feeling better. He is still doing well, his sats are where we want them between 75-85, regular people are between 90-100. I've been having a hard time explaining what being home is like because most people think it's all up hill from here, but I found this analogy that another HLHS mom used to explain it plus it kind of funny. It's like going to the mechanic to pick up your car, it looks perfect on the outside to you, but he tells you, it the engine that still needs some work. You can take it home for the weekend, just don't drive too fast, or go too far and if you see any smoke coming from the engine get out immediately. These are pictures of one of our heros, DR.Harris. P.S. You can tell that Teag's is wearing a St. Patrick's Day outfit, that's because I was so excited for him to wear this and although he wasn't able to wear it on that day, we think he is pretty lucky and it was the day of his surgery and he did so well plus he is Irish and posibily will have red hair, I know you were all wondering, so there it is:)

Mason is very happy to have his family all under one roof. When my mom brought him home the other day he said thanks for bringing me home, he loves to stay home and that's a good thing because we will not be getting out much. We do have to take him to the Iron Man movie soon. Mason loves to hold Teagan and calm him down when he cries, by singing to him. Today he told me, when I grow up I want to be a card oligist (his pronunciation), I was so proud, I almost cried. Looks like Teag has even touched a 3 year old boy, who before this could only dream of being Spider man. Now he wants to play with the thermometer and stethoscope and syringes and feeding machine. The other morning about 5am Ryan and I were up with Teag and we heard a little voice at the top of the stairs saying, "it's OK Teag's , I'm coming. Mom, Dad can I come down", when he came down he immediately went to Teagan and started to sing his ABC's. These are my precious moments.

Wow, made me cry. I love the car analogy. I swear, when my older boys came up to visit Thatch- he changed so much. With mom and dad you dont feel well and you are sad and just want to cuddle, but with your brothers, you just want to play! I have been thinking of you so much. I worry about you getting enough sleep. I am so glad that you have such a great family to help you out. My offer still stands, I would love to help in any way I can.
Please call us when you go to the movie, maybe Sawyer and I will have a date night and come with you! He is dieing to see it!
Much Love,
Tami and Thatch
