Welcome Home

(I started writing this last night so sorry if it doesn't make sense.)Yes it is true we are home, ahhhh! We left at about one, after we said goodbye to a few nurses and some heart friends. Teagan has his days and nights mixed up because he has been sleeping all day and we were up all last night (Thurs.). When we arrived home we met Home Health to set up his feeding pump and meet our home nurse, Joe. We have been going over Teag's meds after we spent $115 at the pharmacy, luckily we only have to do meds twice a day with his shots and a few meds are as needed. He is having his first at home feed right now. Now it is up to us to know and feel that something is wrong, I pray that I will listen to the still small voice. As the nurse left tonight he said he wishes Teagan to get well soon, apparently he doesn't understand our condition, but oh how I wish it were true. Everyone thinks I should be so excited to be home, and I would be if we were just here getting better and he was going to be normal in a few days, but we are in this for the long haul and right now it is scary because so much could go wrong. He has to be watched every second and can not cry or be upset for too long because his heart rate will soar up. It is hard, but we will do it everyday for as long as we are allowed. I don't mean to complain, but it helps to write out my feelings and then I feel all better. We saw a lot of sick kids come and go from PCMC, but I aways new when they went home they would be better. Our case is just a little different and that's ok we can do it a day and a med at a time. I don't know how much time I will have to write this blog anymore now that we are home and getting adjusted, but I'll try to update on the important stuff. Thanks again for all of the love and support and especially the prayers because without them we would not be to this point.

I am glad he is home. I know it is a mixed blessing. You and Ryan are o strong that I have no doubt you can do this and do it well. Teag will continue to be in our prayers!

Oh, Brytt. You can do this. You are a rock. Sometimes rocks cry- hard! Nothing wrong with that! You are human. If I could give you any advice- get someone to help with everything. You and Ryan need time to be out together. Even if it is just dinner. You also need time just with Mason. Maybe just an hour a week that he gets all of yours and Ryans attention at Baskin Robbins, but you have to do it. I am sure it is hard to leave Teagan now that you are home, but you have to take care of yourself too. I would be happy to come over and help out while you went to a quick dinner or ice cream or just to the park with Mason, or Ryan, please call me. I want to help and the only thing that would have really helped me is to feel comfortable leaving him for a little bit of normal. You have a much longer road than we do and I cant begin to imagine what you are going through. But I am here, and I can do feeding tubes and meds and I have an eye like a hawk! Sometimes family forgets that when you are home- everything is not peachy. For all you family out there.... BABYSIT BABYSIT BABYSIT!!!!!! Coming home was very hard emotionally for us and and I am sure you have a lot more of that than I did. Hes going to do great. Give it a good month of being home before you think "normal" should come back. It took us that long and you have more to work through.
Good Luck and please call me the minute you need someone to come over and take care of Teag. I wont bring my kids and I will be right there for him.
Much Love,
Tami

Welcome Home! I'm so excited for you. I know this is very scary for you though. We will continue to pray for you guys as you learn how to make the necessary adjustments and how to be aware of what Teag needs from you.

We have something for you. I'll try to bring it over later.

Welcome home!!! I kinda understand that normal will take on a different look...but you will adjust and then you'll get use to it being that way, things will be just fine. Please keep up on the blog as a way to keep a personal account as to the timing of things that come up along the way. If only for Teagan and Mason as they get older to understand what was going on and your feelings about them. Always know that we're only minutes away, if you ever need anything!

Welcome Home!!!

I'm so glad you are home. It took me awhile to accept that after you have a baby (even a healthy one) things NEVER get back to normal because you now have one more to care for. Give it time and you will find what I call your "new normal". You are going to do fine, just remember to keep things in perspective. Welcome Home!!!

Best Wishes,
Michele & Taryn

So happy to hear that Teagan is home!! Owen's only been home from his norwood for 8 weeks now and we're still adjusting to every hiccup, cough and burp. You'll get into your groove!

Congrats on his homecoming!

Brytt,

Congratulations on finally being home. I know what you mean by not being too excited, I don't think I will be either. Stressed is probably a better word. I hope everything is going well for you and that you will adjust to this 'new normal'. I will email you from time to time to see how things are going. Best of luck to you and Teagan!! Take care of Gracie's boyfriend!

It was so good to see both of you in church Sunday. I can imagine how every waking moment is consumed with Teagan and his near minute-to-minute care requirements. As routines set in and he gains strength, hopefully things will become less stressful for you and him. You know that the whole ward is behind you. Would it be useful to get some of the ,stay at home sisters, a little training on caring for Teagan so you could have immediate, close-by babysitting for the miriads of errands everyone needs to do? Let me know what you are comfortable with, or need...we are all here for you...much love, Bp.T.
