Day EIGHT in the PICU

Well it has been a week and right now we are extubated again! Me and Mason got here today and they asked if I was ok to extubate him. I said it was fine and so far he is doing great he even wants his binky again. I got to hold him in the rocking chair for a while and he really liked that. He is just resting and breathing easy! The last few days have just been the waiting game, trying to get his lungs strong enough to extubated, lots of beatings and special meds to break that crap up. We have really enjoined our nurses, we have a lot of connections with a bunch of them. Visitors are welcome, we just can't have young children back by Teagan. If you do come to visit we are usually back with Teag because the waiting room has been taken over by a small Indian tribe. So just come and get us, I try to be here by 10am and stay till 8:30pm or so. Thanks for checking in on us.
P.S. Our little neighbor girl here in the PICU was going in for brain surgery and they asked Ryan to give her a blessing because they wanted someone who wasn't attached. Ryan gave her blessing and came back and told me she is going to be ok, that was the feeling he got from Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for the priesthood and the peace that it brings.

Yeah for extubation! I am so glad you were able to hold him today. My brother-in-law was complaining about the waiting room seemingly being turned into a hotel room for people who sleep at random times of the day and think they can live there. GROSS! That was my least favorite part of PCMC. I would end up going to other areas and through other areas so as to avoid the nasty PICU waiting room!
Continued prayers,
Emily

Teagan has been I my mind everyday since he went back into the hospital for another repair. These kids are some of the toughest around, what they endure just amazes me... Continued prayers.

We have been out of town and thinking about you guys the whole time. Now that we are back on land I was able read how well Teagan is doing. Thanks so much for the updates. We pray every night for your family. I know you have a great support system but if you ever need anything or Mason ever wants to come over and play just call and we will be there. I don't want to call and bug you so I really appreciate your blog.
Love you all
