This Little Piggy...

This little piggy is very, very red. Well it has taken all day, but we finally know that Teagan's foot and now his hand have staff infection. We worried for a while that it was a major blood clot that was throwing. But infectious disease thinks it is staff and after a major ECHO, that Teag was excellent for might I add, we agree. They are giving him antibiotics for them and will keep a close eye on them. He also tested + for seadiff (spelling). They don't feel it is bad enough to treat and say most babies under 6 months have it anyway. He did not pass his swallow study, he aspirated, so we will try again when he gets his voice back. I don't know if I mentioned, but they have been worried about his vocal cords because his cry is so soft, but yesterday they did a scope and they are not paralyzed just weak and should get better with time. So more tests tomorrow, but today was his best breathing day, still a lot of crap, but better.

Some positive, some negative, think more about the positive. Teagan has a plan of his own and wants to keep his family on their toes. Stay strong Ryan and Brytt you can do it. Tomorrow will hopefully be a day full of good news. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Brytt & Ryan,
I can tell that you are at the end of your ropes. Tie a knot and hang on. Heavenly Father will help you and comfort you through this trial.
I am praying for your little Teagan, that his lungs will respond quickly and that the staff will soon be gone. I pray that you and your family will also be comforted and that they and you will be able, through our brother Jesus Christ, to keep faith in your hearts and not let discouragement get you down.
Alexander sends his love to Teagan and I love you guys,
Grandma Ann

Brytt,
Thank-you for being so brave. I do not think you have one ounce of weakness in you. I know you are a support to our family, and to so many other countless heart families. We are praying for Teagan, every night. C-diff is nasty, as is a staph infection, but I know he is a fighter. I do not know what the outcome will be, I pray and wish that I could say everything will be fine, but I guess I am the living proof that things do not always work out the way we want them to. But I do know that miracles happen, and the hands are lives are in are the most tender-loving hands you can ask for. Think of how much it hurts you to see Teagan hurt, or want to take him in your arms and make everything all right, now magnify that love 1 million fold, and you have the love of our Heavenly Father, for you, and for your family.
Our hugs and prayers,
Emily and Mike

I am so glad they figured out what was causing the redness. I hope the antibiotics are taking care of it. I like what your Grandma Ann said about the knot in the rope. So many prayers are going out on behalf of your family. We love you guys and pray for the best!

I am so sorry to hear that Teagan is having setbacks. It is frustrating and not fair! Just keep up your strength, take care of you, and know that many people are praying for Teagan!!!

You're on a rollercoaster and there are plenty of ups and downs... glad they caught the staph infection and they are treating it right away.

Owen was in the hospital for 30days post Glenn... I was so bummed becasue I was told it was supposed to be quick and easy. So I definetly feel your frustration..different complications, but frustrating all the same.

Hopefully they are keeping Teagan as comfortable as possible.

HUGS to you... I'm so sorry you are going through so much.

Well ok. What’s one more thing right? I love reading the comments that your friends leave. They are so uplifting, and at the same time real. I love what Emily said and how about Chase? That was a great comment. Remember how Brianne and Chase are cousins? Funny how that happened. I love you all very much and if anything Teagans fight has helped me to say daily prayers something I should have been doing before. mmuah!

Hi Brytt and family:
I'm your Grandma Maples good friend (she was my YW teacher years ago--I'm even older than your mom and dad!) and Bobbie Raby's sister. I live in Dallas, Texas. I read your blog and feel your strength. Angels are watching over you. I'm asking my friends here in Texas to pray for you, too.

Ryan & Brytten, I just got back in town. I read your blog daily. I wish there was more I could do for you. I'm so glad you have so much family support through this difficult time. I haven't forgotten you. I pray for your family daily. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. I know just being able to take care of Teagen that he's super strong! Hang in there! God is mindful of Teagen, and your family. We put Teagan's name in the temple. Their are so many praying for your special boy. I pray that as you go through this challenging time you will be able to feel the love of everyone who cares about you. I don't want to call because I know you're swamped. I hope I'll soon be able to take care of Teagen again, he has truly been a blessing in my life. Take care of yourselves!

May God Keep You In The Palm Of His Hand

Brytt, Yes, I have some thoughts and tips but they are many and would be better written in a email. Do you have an email address where I could write to you? I asked Allana and she did not have one for you. I think of your family often as you all go through this. Our family continues to pray for you.

Best wishes from some Pettit cousins living in Pennsylvania. We'll put Teagan's name in the temple here (D.C.) and remember him in our prayers.

Just want you to know sometimes it might take two step forward, once step back, but even with that one step you are still moving forward, just at a much slower rate.
Hang in there. . . I know you are are probably thinking better said than done since I am not going through this, but I do remember it all and I do cry and pray for our members when they are experiencing trials. Please know you are included.
Hopefully I will get to visit with you when I come up to PCMC tonight.
Heart Hugs,
Carolyn
