10 months old

Well this blog is turning into a monthly thing isn't it?! Teagan turned 10 months on the 10th. He is officially sitting up all by himself, YEA! He has two teeth and loves to play with all of his new toys from Christmas. He has had two sets of Synagis shots and appointments for plenty more, we will keep him home for the rest of the winter and hopefully he can get out more come spring. Eating is still a mystery and we will just keep trying until he gets it. I sit down with him twice a day and give him baby food; some gets in, a small amount of that actually gets swallowed and most of it ends up all over his face, hands, and hair!
It's a funny thing when people ask how Teagan is, I never know quite what to say, and I'm sure you other heart moms can relate, to us he is doing really well and we are excited about his daily advancements, but when you tell people he is doing really well they think... oh great he will just keep getting better yea!... well not exactly, but how do you explain that in a short conversation? If you spent a day with us you probably wouldn't call it great and normal, but to us the gaging, puking, being feed through a tube straight into his stomach, and several meds is NORMAL. Me and Ryan go out together and separately, we attend functions and leave Teagan home with Grandma. Our family is running, we are in a really good place! Teagan sleeps great, 11-12 hours straight (I get up twice to add food to his continuous feed and give four meds). So to us this is our Normal so when I say he is doing great, this is our definition of great!
Teagan went to G.I.(the tummy doctor), in short although the appointment was long, we adjusted his meds, and started feeding him without the pump (by gravity). Dr. Jackson G.I. just can't believe how big he is 21 lbs at 10 months is big for a heart baby, even a tube feed heart baby!
To back track a little we had a great December, lots of parties and celebrating. My Mom, Big G, and my aunts put together some really great baskets for the families that have to wait in the P.I.C.U. waiting room, full of blankets, pillows, toiletries, treats, ect. They were so wonderful, those are some long, hard days that you have to sit in that room and we pray that stuff just made it a little more bearable. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve, Christmas Day (snowed in) and a great week home together! We hope you all had a happy and healthy Christmas season!
I hope you like the slide show (it's long):

So good to hear an update. We were just wondering the other day how you guys were doing. I can't believe Teagan is 10 months already. What a cutie. Glad to hear all is well. Keep up the good work. One of these days when it warms up we'll do a heart baby play date.

Teag has got some wild hair! Oh I love it. He looks like such a happy baby in spite of all his little body has to go through.

So good to hear that things are going well for you! Crazy that we don't see each other anymore because of the ward change. It's good to keep up by looking at your blog.

Hi Britt! I've been thinking and praying for you guys ever since my mom told me what you've been going through this past year. I'm so sorry that you've had to endure so much! Heavenly Father must have a lot of faith in you to let you go through so much, and to trust you with the care of such a special little guy! It sounds like you have an amazing attitude! I really admire you!

I don't know how I missed this update... bummer. I'm so thrilled that Teagan is doing so well!! No Oxygen, no hospitalizations.. that defines well to me.

I'm glad to hear he's eating, even if it's small amounts.

So good to have an update!!
