NO Tube!

When I got here this morning with my Mom they had just extubated Teagan. He did not like it very much and it took an hour and a few extra drugs to get him calm. Yesterday was pretty quite in our bed. They did start to feed him and we are trying new formula and less calories to see if he can bottle feed, not that that matters right now since he is being feed NJ (bypassing the stomach) and only gets 5ml every hour. So far no cylo, which I asked Linda to leave a chest tube in for that reason (and it was still draining some). He also got a lot of lines taken out yesterday, the one in his neck, the big chest tube, the tube sucking out his stomach, his cath.(maybe that was the day before), RA line and I think that is it! He is on high flow o2 right now and we are just praying his lungs can handle it and open up real big, we pray for deep, calm breaths. Sorry it's not real exciting, but Teagan is older this time and needs more attention from me so I don't have a lot of time to post. The Internet here is slow so pictures are hard to get up but I will try. Thanks for all of your support and prayers.
P.S. I did get to hold him to help calm him down, but with all his IV I think it hurt him worse.

Yeah for exubation!! I remember how hard it was after the Glenn because I wanted to badly to hold him and comfort him -- BUT he had headaches and was irritable due to all the tubes and lines. It was aweful.

I will continue to pray for Teags to have a speedy recovery and get back to feeling better soon.

He really looks great post Glenn.

Pettit family,
Each tube or monitor Little Teagan is taken off is such a big step, isn't it? Hang in there. He is in my prayers.

Sorry for the rough start today. He is looking more and more like Teagan again. I love all the stuffed animals, he looks comfy. I spent my morning at work visiting all Teags heart friends. Remind me to tell you a story. MMMuh!
